Wings 3 Hawks 2 (OT)
Mikael Samuelsson scores the game winner for Detroit. A turnover by the Black Hawks at the Detroit blue line led to a 3-on-1 breakaway and it was boom-boom-boom. Two crisp passes (Hudler to Filpulla to Samuelsson) and Sammy's one timer to send Detroit to a 2-0 lead in this Western Conference Championship. Lots of good skating, stick handling and old time hockey. They head to Chicago for game 3 on Friday Night.
To heck with the hockey channel and their so-called "experts"... These are My Three Stars:
1- Mikael Samuelsson- Detroit, game winner.
2- Chris Osgood- Detroit, 37 saves.
3- Jonathan Toews- Chicago, two goals.
Osgood is unsung and under appreciated by the hockey media. He has been rock solid between the pipes for the Red Wings so far.
