Whoooooosh

That was the sound of Red Wing ice skates and pucks hitting the net. Detroit goes up 1-0 in the best of seven Western Conference Championships against the Chicago Black Hawks. In what turned out to be a free wheeling wide open game, the Red Wings behind some exceptional goal tending by Chris Osgood won going away 5-2. Ossie was a rock solid netminder and came up big against a young and aggressive Black Hawks team. Daniel Cleary scored twice to pace a Red Wing offense that took 42 shots on goal against Nikolai Khabibulin. Chicago is finding it is tough to beat the defending Stanley Cup Champions on their home ice.
