- I was born Nathan Birnbaum in New York City on January 20, 1896 and lived over 100 years.
- I was an American actor, comedian and writer and appeared in vaudeville, film, radio and television.
- My father died from the flu when I was seven years old and I quit school in the fourth grade to go into show business full-time.
- I married my wife, Gracie, in Cleveland, OH on January 7, 1926. We had a successful radio act from 1932-50. Then we went to the new media of TV with a variety show from 1950-8.
- My Hollywood movies include: "The Sunshine Boys", "Oh God!" (and it's two sequels), The Beatles movie "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band", "18 Again!" and my last role in "Radioland Murders."
- Smoking a cigar was my trademark.
- I promised to live to see my 100th birthday... and I did!
