17- Back to School

Well sort of.

I am watching a lecture series titled "The Foundations of Western Civilizations". Its 48 lectures (a half hour each) starting in Sumer and going through to the 1600s. Sorry no grades! I am finding it interesting to follow through the different cultures. After traveling the world with the US Navy and seeing the great museums of the world I now have a better appreciation for history. Here's the link to Great Courses.

I remember touring the British Museum in London with my family and having to ask "where are the Elgin Marbles" thinking they were large round balls of stone. Of course, after getting directed to their location I realized they were the marble friezes stolen by Elgin from the Parthenon in Athens Greece.

Also I'm taking a free writing creative writing course from WVU (Writer's Village University). My first assignment has been turned in and I'm putting in some B.I.C. writing. (B.I.C. = butt in chair). I don't know how this six week class will go but so far its been fun.

So as you can see learning doesn't have to end when you graduate from school... in fact it's lots more fun when you're older.
