Who am I:
- I was born on July 8, 1907 in Galeana, Mexico.
- I worked in the sugar beet fields at age eleven.
- My father was a carpenter and I learned that trade from him.
- I did missionary work in England and Scotland from 1926-8.
- I went to Washington DC and became a speechwriter for Massachusetts Senator David Walsh, a lobbyist for Alcoa and then married a Hollywood actress in 1931.
- In 1954 I became chairman and CEO of the American Motors Corporation (AMC).
- I was Governor of Michigan from 1963-9.
- I was HUD secretary to Richard M. Nixon from 1969-1973 and orchestrated "Operation Breakthrough".
- I died of a heart attack in July 1995 at the age of 88, while exercising on a treadmill.
