Ten ways we are coping with the down economy

As a family we're tightening our belts. Here's ten things we're doing to save resources and money.

1. Cooking and eating more meals at home.
2. As an independent worker, I am taking every available job that comes my way.
3. Putting off getting a new car for now.
4. Combining trips to save gas.
5. Shopping the sales and using coupons.
6. Eating the foods (fruits and veggies) that are "in season" for our area.
7. Saying no thanks to coffee shop coffee and brewing my own.
8. Keeping the furnace either off or set to a lower temperature. Even lower when no one is home.
9. Shutting the sprinklers off when they predict rain.
10. Limiting the amount of minutes spent in the shower.
